Sukuluok Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Tieklik region (SW Tarim Basin). The name Sukuluok Gr derived from the Sukuluok Series named by Zhang Liangchen et al. in 1958. The typical section is situated in Sukuluok village (in north slope of Kunlun Mountain on the left bank of Halastan River) and the reference section is in Qipanxugou valley in Yecheng County, Xinjiang Weiwuerzhu Zizhiqu (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region).

Lithology and Thickness
The Sukuluok Gr is a suite of fine clastic rock and carbonate rock, dominated by dark purple red to greenish gray pelitic siltstone, mudstone, limy-sandy marl intercalated with siltstone, sandstone and chert. The lower Wangshasi Fm is fine-grained clastic rock. The upper Aqikbaxi Fm is dominated by variegated sandy mudstone, chert and stromatolite-bearing limestone.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It rests disconformably on the underlying Sumalan Fm of Jixian System (Ma Shipeng et al., 1991) or the underlying Bochatetag Fm in the northwest area.
Upper contact
Near Halastan River and its eastern part, the upper part is conformably overlain by the Sinian Yalaguzi Fm or locally by the Carboniferous. In the northwest area, the Sukuluok Gr unconformably underlies the Devonian Qizinafu Gr
Regional extent
Tieklik region (SW Tarim Basin). The Sukuluok Gr is distributed south of Yingjisha and Yecheng counties and the north slope of Kunlun Mountain (in the upper reaches of the Tasihong River east of Halastan River).
